Johnny C Lately play Sulphur Springs Texas

Listen To Johnny C Lately play on Main Street

It was a hot summer day at the Main Street Farmers Market in Sulphur Springs Texas today, but the live Texas music pouring out of Johnny C Lately’s guitar was cool and authentic. Well after the Dairy Festival Parade had passed by, Johnny C was faithfully playing the blues laden Texas tunes he is best known for.

Woodrow Thomas, also known as Johnny C Lately, has been playing music since the seventies, but in the last three years he has been writing songs, playing music, winning contests, and generally being an untapped natural Texas resource. When he’s not working he’s playing the Song Writers Showcase at the Cow Hill Express in Commerce, getting radio spots on KETR, and playing the music he loves.

Johnny C will be playing at Lou Viney’s on Friday June 19th from 7 pm to 9 pm. You can catch Johnny C and his partner in crime, Diamond Jack Holdsworth, at the Venue in Sulphur Springs on June 26th and they will be playing Lou Viney’s again on July 10th and 24th, so check the Lou Viney event calendar for details.

You can learn more about Johnny C and hear more of his great Texas music on the official Johnny C Lately music profile page.

Diamond Jack Holdsworth plays live blues at the Main Street Farmers Market

Listen to Diamond Jack play on Main Street:

The gorgeous Texas sky wasn’t the only blue thing found on Main Street this last Saturday. As part of the growing list of attractions found at the Main Street Farmers’ Market, Jack Holdsworth, who performs as Diamond Jack, brought out his Dobro guitar and performed live acoustic blues on Main Street.

Jack has been playing music since he was three and in 2006 he decided to make music his career. He’s been writing and playing his own music, with help from his wife, every since. Jack says that the blues artists that have influenced him most are Robert Johnson (the face of old delta blues), Stevie Ray Vaughn, Muddy Waters, and Johnny Cash.

During his street performance, Diamond Jack played selections from his most recent album, Coming Home. The album was recorded in his home studio and includes eight great songs that each carry their own style.

If you missed hearing Diamond Jack at the Main Street Farmers’ Market, don’t worry. You’ll have a chance to hear him again on Saturday June 6th June 13th at the Lou Viney Winery in the evening. So, don’t miss out. Come to the Farmers’ Market in the morning to do all your shopping and then stop by Lou Viney for a little music and fun.

You’re sure to have a good time either way.

Book Diamond Jack for your next event.
